Give students constant exposure to code, even if they aren’t able to fully understand it right away, to develop their comfort with code over the long term.
Have students complete a weekly log about what they accomplished this week, what they hope to accomplish next week, and what might hold them back from accomplishing these things.
Set aside class time to check in with students when they’re working on large (2-3+ weeks) group projects in order to catch them before they get derailed and create a project that doesn’t demonstrate assignment requirements.
