Start designing class activities by creating goals for what the students should learn from a particular activity. Ask yourself, “why would kids need to know this?”
Get at eye-level when working with students who are working in their seats, rather than standing above them to reduce intimidation so you develop good student teacher relationships.
Be explicit when you’re making suggestions to student work, rather than corrections, so your students understand the difference and that it is okay to disagree with your suggestions.
