Give students guided notes (i.e., partially-completed notes that students complete) to help them stay engaged and learn from lectures or readings. It may be especially helpful to include vocabulary lists.
Praise students for receiving feedback well to encourage them to be open and receptive when they get information that will help them improve their learning.
Beware of the expert blind spot to ensure you can help your students overcome the initial difficulties that are intrinsic to learning new content.
