Have students complete a weekly log about what they accomplished this week, what they hope to accomplish next week, and what might hold them back from accomplishing these things.

  • Have students answer the following questions each week:
    • What did I accomplish this week?
    • What do I plan to accomplish next week?
    • Is there anything that may interfere with my success next week?
  • This is a good way for students to track their progress, which may give them more confidence in their abilities and accomplishments.
  • It is important to focus on what might hold a student back because it helps you, the faculty member, see possible difficulties such that you can helps the student proactively address potential problems.
