  • Rather than asking directly for money, build a relationship of trust first. Having a good network with businesses and government grant agencies can be very helpful in soliciting funding later.

Give students guided notes (i.e., partially-completed notes that students complete) to help them stay engaged and learn from lectures or readings. It may be especially helpful to include vocabulary lists.
Use cloning software whenever possible so that identical software runs on all lab machines.
