Use cloning software whenever possible so that identical software runs on all lab machines.

  • This allows you to ensure everything is working smoothly on one machine, rather than checking each lab computer individually.

Misconception: Students think that arrays start at 1 instead of 0.
Have students sort large signs their classmates hold to better visualize different sorting algorithms. However, be mindful of unsuitable factors to sort by, such as height and weight.
Provide students with an algorithm which is written in everyday language and have students write pseudocode in order to help them practice the process of translating the ideas in their heads into code.
