Create a handout that translates code in Scratch to code in Logo in order to show students that they are capable of writing text-based code because they already program in Scratch.

  • Students have expectations for what programming is supposed to look like. As a result, students often think that Scratch is a game rather than a programming language.
  • Being able to translate their code from Scratch, a graphical programming language, to Logo, a textual programming language, may help students realize that they actually do know how to program.
