Ask students how they are doing on assignments to keep them accountable and identify unproductive students when necessary.

  • If you have access to iClickers, consider polling your students during class to gauge how far into an assignment they are.

Ask students what they found confusing at the end of each week to identify problems so you can tailor future instruction to students needs.
Make reflections a part of every class project so that students have an opportunity to learn from their completed work and think critically about how they performed, what they learned, and mistakes they made.
Have students complete a weekly log about what they accomplished this week, what they hope to accomplish next week, and what might hold them back from accomplishing these things.
