Reassure students that it’s okay if they don’t initially understand a concept in order to motivate them to keep trying.
Use technical vocabulary consistently and define terms repeatedly to help students gain competency and fluency speaking in technical terms.
When pair programming in class, set a timer for when students should switch roles of driver and navigator. When the timer goes off, have students stand up, switch chairs, and give each other high fives.
