Ask students with raised hands if they’ve discussed their question with their partner before helping them because this encourages students to teach each other and helps make sure more of the students’ questions get answered.
Provide your mentees, advisees, and students with opportunities to share their backgrounds and experiences to create opportunities to connect interpersonally.
Assume the role of a confused student and ask your students questions, prompting them to answer your questions in order to further their understanding of the material.
