Call students by their preferred name and make sure you’re pronouncing it correctly to demonstrate your respect.
Ask students with raised hands if they’ve discussed their question with their partner before helping them because this encourages students to teach each other and helps make sure more of the students’ questions get answered.
Build rapport with your class to create a comfortable learning environment. Remind students that overwhelming tasks, like undergoing code reviews, are stressful even for skilled programmers.
