Reward students when they catch a mistake or ask a question you can’t answer to encourage critical thinking and engagement.
Have students complete a weekly log about what they accomplished this week, what they hope to accomplish next week, and what might hold them back from accomplishing these things.
Remind students that each problem relies on a specific set of knowledge; not understanding a particular problem doesn't mean they’re stupid, it’s an opportunity to work hard and learn more.
