Have students put their workspace on a USB drive or external hard drive so that they can continue to work on their assignments on any device in any location.

  • Teach students the proper procedure for removing drives from a computer so that data does not get lost.
    • Even with teaching this to students, make sure they keep multiple copies of their files so that they don’t risk losing all of their progress if they misplace the USB drive.
  • Give students techniques for remembering that they need to remove their USB drive from their computer before they leave.
    • For example, have them place the cap to the USB drive on the table in a certain spot (or attach a bow or string to the USB) to makes the USB drive visible.
