Compare the head and body tags in HTML to the Headless Horseman to help students remember what gets displayed on a web page.

  • Much like the Headless Horseman, the head tag and everything inside it is not rendered on the page.
  • The body tag in HTML is seen when you render a webpage, just like the body of the headless horseman.
  • Students find this type of analogy really helpful along with other analogies where one part is seen but the other is not (e.g. the wizard behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz).
