Ask questions periodically while watching instructional videos as a class to keep students focused and engaged.

  • Some instructional resources provide videos for teachers to use in class, but these might be too long to keep students engaged, and students may not absorb much of the content. If these videos are watched as a class and not individually, pause the video every once in a while and ask students questions about the content. Reflecting on what they’ve seen might help them absorb the content better.
